Feature Betsy Bride of the Week: Kelly
Feature Betsy Bride of the Week: Kelly
May 31, 2017
This weeks feature Betsy Bride couple, Kelly and Benjamin, tied the knot after six and half years together at a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Historic Shady Lane. The couple met in college at Penn State University and Benjamin later proposed in the gardens of the Governors Mansion in Colonial Williamsburg.
Like so many of todays brides, Kelly used Pinterest to help plan her wedding and its actually what brought her to Betsy Robinsons in the first place. I saw the designer, Martina Liana, on Pinterest, which made me come to Betsy Robinson. From there she settled on fit and flare and her love of lace and sleeves did the rest. The illusion lace sleeves looked romantic and delicate and the illusion back with its covered buttons gave guests an extra dose of elegance. A bare neck allowed the beauty of the neckline to show through, but Thomas Knoell Jewelry Designs made up the extra sparkle in the chandelier earrings and custom headpiece.
Kelly described her wedding as elegant and romantic with a touch of a garden theme. Her main inspiration for planning came from Hydrangeas. They were her chosen flower for her bouquets, and they helped to provide a color scheme as well. Its a great reminder that you can use something very simple to help unify your wedding, and you dont need to get bogged down in creating a word-map in order to define your wedding. The beautiful blue blooms of Kellys bouquet went perfectly with the Amsale bridesmaids dresses as well as with the groom and groomsmen attire. The blooms also helped to inform the decor of the tented reception and kept everything looking like a fresh spring day.
Scrolling through the gorgeous photos, taken by Caroline Logan Photography, its easy to see how the day went off flawlessly with cooler temperatures as the only surprise. And the best part of the whole day? Finally being married. Just the way it should be.
