This weeks feature Betsy Bride couple, Chelsea and Dave, first met through mutual friends. After a few Facebook messages back and forth, they arranged a first date. Two days later they were on a second date. Then on and on they went. They clearly know the right people, and they clearly know what they wanted in a wedding. Their inspiration all along was originality. In the wedding world originality means custom and that was the order of the day.
First of all when talking custom details we have to address Chelseas stunning
Galia Lahav gown. There are almost no words for how perfect it looks on her. The plunging illusion front, the illusion sleeves with their lace details, and the daring illusion back with the applique running down the middle are sheer perfection. Get it? Truly though, all these elements are working magically together. We know though that it's not just about the dress. It's about the woman wearing it, and that's where the magic comes to life. Chelsea radiates just like a bride should.
Then theres the food. Because Chelsea and Dave are self-proclaimed foodies, the food was a big priority. The menu alone from
Classic Catering is enough to wish you had been there. I sure do. There were appetizers of chicken and waffles, lobster rolls and beef brisket tacos. There were signature cocktails and mocktails. The main course was comprised of three stations serving New York strip, Stone Bass and Maryland crab cakes. Mouth watering for sure, but they really hit it out of the park with deep-fried Berger cookies served in personalized Chinese take-out boxes. I repeat, deep-fried Berger cookies. Bam. Done. Thats how you win weddings.
But Chelsea and Dave achieved more than just Berger cookie bliss. With the help of their planner,
Stephanie Bradshaw, they turned the Baltimore Museum of Art into their own private up-scale nightclub. The exquisite marble space with its grand columns was brought to life with voluminous floral arrangements, drapery and lots of up-lighting. In addition they had personalized glow sticks, showers of confetti and a
DJ who put on an electric violin performance complete with sparklers. All of which was captured by

By the time that Dave proposed to Chelsea on the balcony of their Miami apartment with the beautiful skyline behind them, he had already had the ring a year. Since so many of their friends were getting engaged at the time, he wanted to make sure that their moment was special by waiting. They certainly achieved that. A custom wedding from start to finish, and an incredible night of celebration for all.
