Three Reasons to Wear a Veil If You’re on the Fence

Posted on Mar 26 by

Full disclosure, in case you didn’t know, we sell veils. We sell lots of veils. So it would make sense for us to tell you how important they are. We’re pretty smart cookies here at Betsy Robinson’s, but we’re also honest. And we’re here to help you. I hear brides question all the time if they should wear a veil, and when they do, I feel myself have practically a visceral reaction to the question. I want to shout from the rooftops, “YES!” Yes, you should wear a veil. But don’t do it for me. Don’t do it for us. Wear a veil because there are three really good reasons that you should.     1. Celebrating International Women’s Day

Posted on Mar 8 by

Today is International Women’s Day, and here at Betsy Robinson’s we feel like we do a great job celebrating women everyday. It’s also a privilege to work for Betsy Robinson herself. She’s a model of strength, independence, and business acumen. Plus, she’s got a killer wardrobe, and she knows the value of a good handbag, and a good cocktail.     She started this business nearly forty years ago, with little more than an idea, and a passion. She has built a brand that is well known far beyond the reaches of Baltimore, and she has influenced the bridal world immensely.  ...

OMG Look Who Just Got Engaged Part 2

Posted on Feb 12 by

For those of you in the know, our very own bridal consultant Ashley Gray, got engaged this fall. We thought it would make the perfect opportunity to follow her journey all the way down the aisle, and get a little insight along the way. Planning a wedding is all about being overwhelmed. Sometimes you are overwhelmed by the daunting logistics. Sometimes you are overwhelmed by prices and opinions. But you also get to be overwhelmed by an outpouring of love and support.     We’ll stick with Ashley as she tackles all these predicaments. I’m already predicting she’ll be a steady hand and a cool cucumber who can offer some good tips to the rest of us. Here she is in her own words as she tackles the tough questions. When is the wedding?! Have you picked a date?! These are questions I hear  frequently. Very frequently. Now that Martin and I are engaged, it’s time to start planning. Even though I have been in this business for almost five years, I have struggled with the number one question...
